The city of LA was originally found by 44 African and indigenous people working for Spain. It was founded as as city in 1781. South LA originally had a very diverse population,but that changed over time. By the time of the watts riots of 1965, watts was mostly black. The watts riots,the began when marquette fry was pulled over for reckless driving. This results in 34 deaths. It also led to most of the whites population leaving South LA and the area around it. After the watts riots,the civil rights movement had a huge effect on South LA. Gang that had first formed to protect against white terrorism,completely stopped as people joined the movement. many gang member joined organization such as the black panther and the brown berets.later,Tookie Williams and Raymond Washington started the crips on western and imperial HWY. Around the same time, the 18 st.gang,a latio group, was also beginning.soon after, the crack epidemic started.crack cocaine tore apart the community and led to an increase in crime and homicides . the movie innocent voices shows why families would want to come to the U.S. thought.the anger that came from the crack epidemic and the struggle of immigration,along with police brutality led to the LA Riots of 1992. In 1991,Rodney king was filmed being beaten by the police. two weeks later,Latasha Harlins,a young teenager,was shot at a liquor store while buying orange juice by the sales clerk. the community was very upset. When the verdict for the officer came back as not guilty, riot began.  

The black panther started in oakland and were founded by huey newton and bobbly seale. they were socialist and hand a major goal of stopping police brutality. they would follow the police around to try to make sure the police did not beat and kill people. there were laws against carrying weapons in your pocket, jacket, or pants, and the black panther were known to instead carry weapon such as pistols, and shot guns in public.their black leather jacket and black sunglasses were know throughout the country. they had their own newspaper,free breakfast programs, and free health own school. their main goals were to improve housing,education,food, and job in the ghetto and stop police brutality. the fbi cointelpro counter

overall, do you personally like living in los angeles? why pr why not? yes. because my parents living in los angeles and i could be with them every day and i really love my parent allot.

When things are not cared for…

the people they don’t take care they stuff because they throw the trash out side and it is a lot of tage and paper in the ground. i found seal house and a lot of people out side and they have a lot of dog and i think that it was a old water and some people they don’t care it at all and they don’t care about they trash and they look that they don’t like cleaning at all . i saw the community had some good house and they were not dirty they was cool. the broken window theory is when something is not take care of and other people see that so they just keep messing it up.
